  1. Self Assessment: Answer a few short questions to determine if volunteering with the Oregon Trail Chapter is the right choice for you.
  2. Volunteer Opportunities: Review the list of open positions to see if there's one that meets your skills and interests. You will be redirected to our volunteer management site, Volgistics.
  3. Volunteer Application: Complete and submit your application online. You will be redirected to our volunteer management site, Volgistics.
  4. American Red Cross Background Check: All employee and volunteers of the American Red Cross are required to request a background check online. The background check consists of a social security number verification and a seven year criminal look back.
  5. Orientation: View our national American Red Cross online orientation for new employees and volunteers (NEVO). The orientation is split into four modules of varying length. It will take about an hour to complete the whole course, but you can break it into sections. Please email us when you have completed the orientation.
  6. Interview: Please contact Volunteer Services to schedule an Interview.  Our staff will review current opportunities and help determine an appropriate placement. You may schedule this interview via e-mail or by calling 503-528-5624.
Once you have completed the interview process and been placed in a position, review the Volunteer Handbook and complete the forms below:

If you are under 18 years of age, you need to complete our Parental Consent form, and the Intellectual Property Agreement form for minors instead of the above Intellectual Property Agreement.

Questions? Please contact Volunteer Services via e-mail or at 503-528-5624.
