Margaret Sanner's extensive experience helping the American Red Cross
respond to disasters across the country makes her the perfect choice to
lead the organization's Willamette Chapter in Salem. Sanner, who has
worked for the Willamette Chapter as a public information officer since
2004 and has been with the Red Cross since 2001, will now serve as
executive director, a role that she has filled on an interim basis since

| Volunteers are still needed
to help with "Buy A Blanket," a month-long American Red Cross campaign
designed to educate Oregonians about the importance of preparedness and
encourage their support of local disaster relief. For the next three
Saturdays (Sept. 18, 25 and Oct. 2), volunteers can register for a
two-hour shift between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., greeting customers in Fred
Meyer stores throughout the state. |

| In honor of National
Preparedness Month, the Oregon Red Cross and all Oregon Fred Meyer
stores are working together to get the state prepared for disasters.
Upon entering a Fred Meyer store, customers can pick up a basic list of
items to start building an emergency kit. Shelf talkers will then point
shoppers towards key supplies. Additionally, customers can "buy a
virtual blanket," making a $4 donation towards local disaster relief. |

| In his new position, Farley
will lead the Oregon Mountain River chapter, which serves Crook,
Deschutes, Grant, Harney, Jefferson and Wheeler counties and Warm
Springs Reservation. As executive director, he will be responsible for
achieving annual fundraising goals and cultivating major donors;
increasing public awareness of the Red Cross; and working with the local
Board of Directors to develop and implement a strategic financial plan. |

season wreaked havoc on the Gulf Coast, many Oregonians still remember
responding to Hurricane Katrina as though it were yesterday. As the

available for media interviews about their experiences. Additionally,

| A new partnership between the
American Red Cross and Papa Murphy's of Oregon and SW Washington will
bring the basic tips of "Get A Kit, Make A Plan and Be Informed" to
every take 'n' bake pizza sold. The tips will come via fliers on each
pizza and will also include a promotion code for discounts on Red Cross
emergency preparedness kits. When the kits are purchased, customers will
