Responsibilities:
Summary
The Safety Training and Product Consultant is responsible for selling Red Cross training courses, products and programs to community, business, and industry groups to meet the expectations of both the annual Business Plan and department revenue goals
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Meet revenue goals established for the sales of Health & Safety courses and products and assist in meeting the annual revenue goal establishes for the sale of products.
  • Develop new clients through direct mail campaigns, ongoing prospect calls, and customized sales promotions that utilize chapter electronic resources and personal interactions. 
  • Retain corporate client base through recertification training program.
  • Participate in targeted safety trade shows, health fairs, and special events that result in new customer acquisition.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the annual Health & Safety Sales Plan.
  • Coordinate with Health & Safety program staff to develop customized safety training to meet clients needs and requests.
  • Accurate and timely input of client and prospect into respective databases.
  • Coordinate with appropriate Health & Safety staff to guarantee customer satisfaction and successful completion of all safety training.
  • Drive the sales of first aid, safety products and AEDs to both clients and class participants.

Education and/or Experience
  • College courses in marketing, communication, business, or equivalent sales experience
  • Computer proficiency word processing, spreadsheet, windows, contact management database.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing or sales techniques.
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to furnish own transportation.
  • Government relations and/or knowledge of procurement process a plus. 
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, donors and the general public.
 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate basic figures.
 
Computer Skills
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and email, and the ability to use Red Cross databases.
 
Reasoning Ability
While performing the duties of thus job, the employee must be;
  • Able to meet the demands of achieving department revenue goals.
  • Able to prioritize work and complete multiple and varied tasks.
  • Able to work independently and identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Salary: $27,400 per year
