SABA LMS Instructions for Existing Volunteers as of July 1, 2010

  • All of our Emergency Services Disaster Responders have been migrated to the SABA LMS system, including three years of training records (this is still spotty as far as I can tell.)
  • You can log in to SABA using your Plateau LMS ID (a seven or eight digit number)
  • The default password is Welcome1. Please change it when you log in.
    • You log in to the Home screen.
    • Go to My Account (at the very top of the page)
    • In My Account, click on the Account Details tab to change your password
  • Our Training Calendar  is loaded into SABA and you can register for classes online
    • Locate the Catalog Search box on the Home screen
    • The Class Title and the Class (Offering) ID are included in the Training Calendar. You can use either to locate the class in the SABA Catalog
    • Using Class Title. Use the same title that appears in the Calendar: at least the first two of three words should work.
    • Using the Offering ID
      • Enter the Offering ID number from the Calendar in the Catalog Search box
      • Click Search
    • The Register link appears in the Actions column of the Learning Offerings table
      • Click on Register. This takes you to the Create Order page
      • Click on the Place Order button
      • Print a receipt if you like

Finding Your SABA ID

  • Update 11/15/10. We have just concluded a comprehensive review of duplicate LMS records and where the duplication was obvious, we merged the records. Our purpose was to collect all of your training taken through LMS and SABA in one record. However, the merge may have not ended up with the primary Username that  appears in the Volunteer Information Center as described below. If this is the case for you, please let us know at otcstaffing@redcross-pdx.org
  • For your convenience your SABA (old LMS) ID has been added to your Volunteer Information Center Profile (available to all Emergency Services Registered Volunteers)
  • Your Volunteer Information Center  (VICNet) login information has been sent to you several times in the past few months as we have increased our use of the Volgistics database of which the Volunteer Information Center is a part
  • Use the following link to log in to VicNet
    •   https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=17463
    • Your VICNet ID is the email address we have on record in the Volgistics database. If you have not saved your password from previous notifications click on the Forget Your Password? link and it will be sent to your email address of record.
    • Click on the Profile tab in VicNet to view your SABA LMS ID number. You can also use this screen to record your password for reference. This screen can only be accessed by the user or a system administrator.

7/21/10. National ARC is migrating training records from Plateau Learning Managment System to a new system customized for the Red Cross: SABA/LMS. This transition will occur in stages throughout the country between now and the end of 2010. Currently the record migration is in progress and all class registrations should be made by email until we announce that our Class Schedule has been loaded into the new system. For more information  see the SABA announcement  page.
