After helping nearly 1,300 households in Portlands Humboldt
neighborhood get prepared for emergencies, the Oregon Trail
Chapter hit the streets once again, this time in outer Southeasts
Hazelwood neighborhood.
Free smoke detectors, batteries and first aid
kits were given away on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, as
volunteers, staff and community partners conducted door-to-door safety
outreach in Portlands Hazelwood and Mill Park neighborhoods. The two
outer eastside neighborhoods were identified after mapping the areas of
Portland with the highest need for Red Cross emergency assistance.
Portland General Electric sponsored Together We Prepare Hazelwood/Mill
Park with the support of a matching donation by CDW Corporation.
