Instructions for Workers

Emergency Phone

If you’re unable to fill your shift or if you’re running late, call 503.816.2880. This is the ODA Team Lead phone and is the on-site contact number.

Attire

Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable, close-toed shoes. We are anticipating a cold, rainy weekend and please remember to dress in layers as we will all be outside for the majority of our shifts. There will be a limited amount of hand warmers and space blankets available for Red Cross volunteers to keep warm.

Transportation

You are welcome to drive to the event, but parking is limited. Please consider carpooling or taking public transportation. For public transit directions visit www.trimet.org and enter Oregon Convention Center as your final destination.

Parking

When you arrive for your shift you may park in the lot under the Oregon Convention Center on NE 1st Ave. For shifts taking place anytime on Sunday you will take a ticket as you enter the parking garage and your team leader will give you a voucher to exit the garage free of charge at the end of your shift. For shifts taking place at any other time during the event please print a parking pass. You simply need to display the parking pass on your dashboard while your car is in the lot. If you’re in need of directions to enter the lot, there is a map on the parking pass that you all may view. Everyone must park in Lot 1. The I-5 lot is reserved for ODA staff only.

Arrival

After you have finished parking you will need to meet your team leader by the EKRV parked near the corner of MLK Boulevard and Holladay Street. Your team leader will give you a Red Cross vest and some general instructions about your shift. Team Leaders will be wearing orange safety vests.
